Hi - newbie to this website. I have 2 players - a DVL-909 and CLD-D925. Both have different issues..

I'm very keen to get the CLD-D925 repaired (and although I know its not the best, the DVL-909 at the same time) but can't find anywhere in the UK. Videotec Oxford used to do loads but I spoke to Tony there and said they stopped over a decade ago. Anyone know someone in the UK who can help?

I'm also keen (after lots of lurking on here) to pickup a CLD-97 and HLD-X0 for NTSC discs and keep my D925 for PAL duties. I'm keeping an eye on ebay and its a long shot, but if anyone here (UK based or otherwise) owns either and would like to sell, please contact me :)

Welcome to the forum.

the 925 isn't too bad for PAL and NTSC.

a slightly digital look.

Yahoo Auctions Japan has lots of the 97 Japanese units.
if you don't mind the shipping

HLD-X0's are harder to come by and much more expensive

I thought the D925 was analog looking especially when compared to DVL-909. I tried running both through an Oppo UDP-203 to upscale but now bought the RetroTink 4K which is a great bit of kit with all the adjustments possible so just playing with this now. Keen to see what the best players can do for NTSC.

Had a look on Yahoo Japan auctions, theyre trying to restrict sales to UK now. I'll keep an eye on the US eBay.

Can anyone recommend someone in UK who can repair/service these?

What do you mean restrict sales to UK?

Just use a proxy buying system and they'll gladly receive/re-ship it to UK for you.
Expect imports tax/duties in UK on reception though.

Replace the load belt on the 925, it should serve you well.

Visit their website from a UK IP and they advise they arent shipping to the UK. Presumably a Brexit thing - even if I manage to order, will presumably have an issue at checkout anyway. Managed to have a look on there though and isnt much listed currently.

If you visit from EU you'll be blocked/denied entirely to visit the website.

You can always use a proxy service such as https://buyee.jp/

Yep, have a couple of spares on order.

Managed to take it apart and have a good look. Isnt this forum and YouTube fantastic. Essentially the motor assembly is getting stuck going from side A to B. Cant work out why - some mention to re-grease the track so I'll try that. For the time being (fingers crossed) I'll stick playing side A only and flipping the disc. Going to order another couple of D925 for ongoing spare parts and hopefully make up a "best of" unit.

Still keeping an eye out for CLD-97 and XLD-X0 ;)

Depending on where it gets stuck during the A/B flip it could be the guide rail pin alignment in the turn mechanism with the side A or B rail or lack of grease as has been stated. Get some white silicon grease first, put a little on the rail and see what happens.
