Can confirm that at least post-1995 Karaoke CLD players with CD-G can do LD-G, I played a Japanese Die Hard 3 on it (and I think my copy of TPM) and it definitely works.

Aladdin (PILF-1277) had an added LDG channel. LD-G channel 3 carries info in Japanese about who/what the genie is impersonating.
