Daniel from SingMai just asked me to recommend a LD player for
his Comb filter project.

I recommended the Pioneer CLD-2950 PAL/NTSC player as this model does not have any digital processing.

are there any other Multiformat LD players without digital processing that may be cheaper to find on 2nd hand sites?

Thanks for any help

I think would agree with your choice of the 2950 Michael; only other options that I can think of are perhaps the simpler (but generally less common) single side play 1950 and of course the much earlier CLD-1750 which had a decent reputation back in the day, though now perhaps a bit long in the tooth?

To all out there.

what test discs can anyone recommend that have useful test cards on them

for both PAL & NTSC ?

we all know the Video Essentials and A Video Standard for NTSC

when it comes to PAL , the only one that comes to mind is the
Jason And The Argonauts PAL edition with a small amount of test patterns

is there ANY PAL Demo Disc from the major player manufacturers out there
that offers more test patterns?

thanks for any help

Michael

Probably the Pioneer PAL Reference Disc GGV1007, likely incredibly difficult to obtain now, unless anyone here owns a copy?

It has digital processing. It just does not look as digital as the CLD-D925.

CLD-1750 might have been a worthy candidate.
