I don't think I ever noticed that one!

Of course we all know LD Players with LD-G decoding (ex: Pioneer CLD-R7G) but there was at least one Japanese player from SONY with CC decoding embedded: Sony MDP-RC20

It looks like a Sony MDP-RS10 with CC added (and related additional buttons on front panel).

I remember seeing this Aiwa or akai LD player with CC built in . can't say for sure what brand honestly. I only remember it being blood ugly and lacking outputs like digital and rf out.
a shame Pioneer didn't include the feature

I remember some early to mid 90s VCRs having CC built in. I guess it somehow makes sense that some LD players would follow suit (then again, LD players don't have a tuner in them like a VCR does.)
