I'll try to get a video of what mine sounds like up tonight. Yours is whisper quiet compared to how mine sounds...like plastic ready to snap and that's with or without the tray. I was hoping I would have had time over the long weekend to tinker with it, but fat chance.

I do have to say that I do enjoy the LD version to my VHS ones. It's gonna be an extra special Christmas this year watching Die Hard on LD.

So that funny thing called life took up a bunch of time, but followed the guides and made real progress (plus I'm in Q4 planning this week so all day meetings that I'm just on and not doing anything helped).

Looks and sounds much better. Have you tried to play a disc yet (assuming you got the tray back in)?

I did try a movie, but nothing happened so I not sure if I didn't hook a cable back up or if something else. It's on my agenda today to tinker with while I'm in planning meetings...lol.

EDIT:
Tripled checked all the connections and nothing is jumping out. Disc still doesn't spin. Here's a video with and without the clamp bar.

Do you see the laser pick-up shining the red LED up to the disc? Also, have you tested it with a CD?

I do see the LED. I will have to dig up a cd to try. Thanks

Got sidelined by a "mild cardiac event". Haven't given up on getting the 3070 working...but I've been enjoying D703 that's now been moved from my office to the living room.

On my trial and error notes, I did try a regular audio CD and nada. These are the times when videoing and taking notes actually pays off.
