I'm really feeling my Pioneer CLD-3080 and didn't know if I would like it before I got it even though I knew the CLD-95 was based on it. I didn't know if I would like it or not because I seen someone have a comparison video of the LX-900 and CLD-3080 two players I own and in the video I almost feel like the LX-900 is giving off a slightly better definition but color wise I think it was close and came to preference on what someone likes. Now what I like about the CLD-3080 over the LX-900 is that most LX-900 have the issue of cutting about 5 percent of the right screen off. I do not like that. My LX-900 is a revision 1995 and most of the LX-900's I see pop up online are 1992, 1993, and 1995. I think those are the 3 I see pop up most often. I don't think I've ever seen an 1996 LX-900 which I believe someone told me exist and I don't know if they ever fixed the weird defect of the right side of the screen cutting part of the picture off. Also I didn't know if I would like the sleek look of NO Knob being on the laserdisc panel but I love it. I think it's cool and I love that I can eject the front panel to have jog shuttle because it feels cool and unique. And the laserdisc panel is pretty cool looking. At least I like how it looks in person. I think the front panel impresses me and I like the look of both the Pioneer CLD-3080 and the Pioneer CLD-53's front panels look. They both look great in person. Now the LX-900 isn't a bad looking front panel but it's not on the level of the Pioneer appearance wise in my personal opinion.

I guess it would be my current one - Runco LJR II.

Picture is really nice. Doesn't seem to have the right side cutoff that plagued earlier Runcos and LX-900s thankfully. Initially I thought not having an onboard D/A converter would be a drawback, but when you're hooking it up to a decent receiver, it becomes a non-issue.

It's kind of hard to say what is my favorite player as every player I own has a certain characteristic that makes them special. So I'll try to keep it simple in picking my first love and that would be my Pioneer, CLD-3030.

It's still a awesome player in respect to build quality, design (look how thin it looks compared to the DVD player below it), ergonomics (lots of buttons on the front panel) and check out the door....

The whole display along w/ the center set of buttons drop down for tray access. Now that is a cool look that does a great job of hiding the fact that it's an LD player. Pioneer also did this with the CLD-1030, CLD-2070, CLD-3070, CLD-91, and CLD-92 (US models).
