Hiiiii guys, I've been looking at some laserdisc players on a website here in Brazil and I came across an ad that left me in doubt. I don't know very well about how the technical part of the players works, all their mechanics, they are very complex, that's why I'm here! ^^

the ad is a Laserdisc Pioneer Cld-a100 Laseractive, for no more than R$3.650,00 (737.51 dollars). the most curious thing besides the price (which is absurd in Brazil) is that it doesn't work, because, according to the seller, he spent a few years without using it and that's why he only turns on the lights. Is it possible for a player to be spoiled at this level without using it for a very few years?

I also saw a man who repairs lserdisc and he said that this kind of guy can be more than half the price of this ad on top...

Well, this one I thank anyone who can answer and I apologize if my question was silly... A hug to all! :D <3 <3

This player is very expensive for the video game aspect.

All capacitors need replacing.
This is a known issue with the 100

wow! Is there a thread here on the forum that goes into more detail about these errors? :?:

And about the price, it's really expensive for something that doesn't even work and needs to be repaired (I don't know if I should make this comparison, but the price charged can afford 2 latest generation game consoles here in Brazil)

It’s not a great player at all for movies. The video is noisy, there’s no auto reverse, and it lacks digital or AC-3. The player itself vibrates pretty bad. The games are super expensive, all of them, not to mention bad. The default remote sucks. The modules self destruct from cap failure. I wouldn’t pay half that price for a working one, I wouldn’t pay anything for a broken one.

LD players will for sure freeze up from lack of use. Lots and lots of things do

? That link just shows the hardware info page, no other topics from the forum.
Not sure if that's correct or not.

If it’s of any consolation rein-o, you’re not the only one that couldn’t see it at first  - I reckon we should both go and stand at the back of the classroom now!

Yeah I would have never looked at that area, I've never looked at that area for titles and didn't notice it.
