Im in massachusetts. I have one but I never shipped anything like this. Also I wouldnt call it in prime cosmetic condition. But it has the msb rf out mod and previous owner serviced it bu kbahr in december.

There is a 99 on ebay in terrific condition with box that is at my price. I sure wish it was a 97 as I will be using composite out.

I just received a unit to refurbish and add AC-3 RF. I'll have to open the box and look at it. Hopefully I'll have time before I leave for vacation Wednesday.

Duncan has one in "good" condition available for sale with ac-3 mod. I would love to find out the condition of yours first if poosible Kurtis before committing.

I remember seeing a mcintosh mld7020 in great condition. I dont know if the auction ended. It was at $450 plus shipping when I looked at it. This is the same unit as cld-97 with rf out added by mcintosh. Unless you find one in better cosmetic condition, I recommend buying from duncan or kbahr. I have two 97s. One tweaked one stock i can see a difference.tweaked one reads the lds the one wont.

It looks to be still an active auction. He doesn't give any kind of description as to the condition of the player that I find odd. He also has the word disc spelled "disk" in his title. When I see thay error, I usually assume the seller is not an LD guy and is just reselling it.

I love the look of the 97 and have also wanted to get back the "dream" player I reget selling a while back.

Thanks for the recommendation. I would much rather spend more money just for the peace and mind with a tweaked 97. Because of a health issue, I pretty much have to stay out of the summer heat so I will be watching LD's like crazy this summer.

Now, if I could only find a rf demodulator for a decent price.

Don't forget about the CLD-98, which is the multi-voltage silver/gold version of the CLD-97. The CLD-98 is somewhat rare, but I managed to snag a mint example on ebay for about $500 a while back. The CLD-98 is basically identical to the Japanese market CLD-959 with the addition of voltage selectors for the international market (I believe HK or similar).

Rf mods do not appear in good prices often but if you wait a little you should be able to get one under $100. I bought my lexicon for $80 shipped about 3 months ago. I think one of the forum members have a brand new lexicon ldd1 for sale.

I purchased a 97 tonight from Duncan with ac-3 mod and dnr mod. He has several 97 face plates and said that he will use the best one. Finally, the search is over. Now I just need to find a demodulator for a fair price.
