O.K. then it's more of a challenge for you, i like to challenge myself on repairing stuff also.
but it's like the other topic about trying to make a upscaller, and i was asking the same question.

if you have a job that only pays minimum then it's worth it to try and fix/make.
but if you are some who are making lots of money per hour then it's not worth it etc.

as i've stated before, i received my main player broken, but it was more than i could fix, at the time it was better for me to just send it in for repairs due to the amount it cost and what i was making etc.

the way i was reading all of the posts, it sounded like you had 10+hrs into it, which wouldn't be worth it etc.

The easiest thing to do is get a CD to play, just try that after cleaning the lens. This is correct that it is either a dirty lens, maybe a finger print, it could also be the ribbon cable not making proper contact after replacing the M Holder. If it is non of these then the pickup needs replacement.
