Have you done eny error seeking for these machines ? what exactly are broke on them after the shipping ? Players are pretty fragile stuff. But I can imagine that it shouldnt be any major errors after the shipping ? |

On the 1 DVL there was no error message the red light was the only thing that worked & the seller swore up & down that it worked before shipping UPS. |

If they are handled roughly the laser and come out of alignment. That alone can cause problems. I am guessing that is what happened with mine as it was working when it left. I had just watched sleeping beauty on it and packed it away. |

Same for here in Canada. Putting a heavy item sticker on the parcel is good and ok......but putting a fragile sticker on it, is like saying "kick me I'm fragile" Interesting to hear UPS will pay for the damages. When I phoned UPS a few years back for a shipping price sending a CED video disc player from Canada to the USA....... they asked what it was, and then said they don't insure any personal items like VCR, video disc and DVD players. So it's at your risk. I do think though UPS and Fedex are maybe not quite as rough on parcels as regular mail. |

I told them exactly what it was and they just paid. Already cashed the check. |

UPS is better now than in the past. i think they all have to compete with each other to get more business. i received a LD player from my girlfriends brother via UPS and it was broken, it wasn't a great player but they wanted me to get it repaired. after telling them the repair cost and the replacement cost they just gave him money back for "replacement" |
