Post subject:  Help with Pioneer part numbers

I haven't been on the forums here very long so I haven't yet figured out how some of you guys can rattle off part numbers like its no big deal. Therefore, I need some help.

I have two units that I care about, a D503 and a D604. For the 503 I'm having minor tracking issues on Side B so I'm told I need VNL1717, the "motor holder". Also there are associated gears, right? I'd rather just get those now. I also have some minor vibration so I'm thinking about replacing the spindle motor since last time I looked they were only about $40. I don't know the part numbers for any of this stuff except the motor holder.

For the 503 I need the belt that pulls the spindle motor up to mount the disc since its slipping. I might as well have belts for the 503, come to think of it.

Also, if there are any other common failure/maintenance items for these players I should get, please let me know. I'd like to get them in tip top shape so I hopefully won't have to mess with them for several years.

Hi signofzeta,
Good Morning From the UK,

I have found the members here are very helpful, and willing to get hold of spare belts ect for five of my LD Players.

Its good to build & have the trust in others who are willing to help.
I am currently waiting for correspondence from a knowledgable and long time respected forum member.
I won't mention his name ''Only because he may be very busy'' And he may read your post and offer advice when he next visits this site.

He is a good Gentleman,

Regards to you ''and I am sure that you will get the parts that you need,'' so don't worry to much.

Gathering you meant you wanted the M Holder for your D604 as the unit you own that has that issue, not the 503.

D604
VXA2208 - D604 spindle motor
VNL1779 - is the correct Motor Holder
VNL1639 & VNL1782 are the two gears

D503
VEB1237 - Grip ring that goes on top of the spindle motor

VEB1184 is the same belt for both players

And yes, you are correct, its the 604 that's having side B issues. I misspoke/mistyped.
