You covered the main places, however it might be worth trying the repair centres to see if they stock any reconditioned units. Also I think Mike Duff might have sold one in the past. |

I remember the guy running laserdiscplanet.com sent out a mailer to his customers that he was selling X9's (it wasn't listed on the site itself.) The shop on the site is shut down right now though. Says "The LaserDisc Store won't be reopening until 2013." When I get home, I'll check my email (can't do it here at work) and see what I can find. Maybe you can email him and see if he has any? |

Just stay away from that guy from Portugal. I bought a player of that arrived broken. Now 8 month later it is still not fixed, nor is he willing to refund me my money. |

another quick question is: do the X9 have smearing, or is it smear-free like the r7g? the S9 has A LOT of smearing, which is quite annoying at times :/ |

If the S9 smears depends on the display you have. I do not have any smear watching 704's, 99's etc on my Pioneer plasma. Maybe more cost effective into testing he S9 with other displays. |

Maybe you can email him and see if he has any? Found the email from Laserdisplanet.com about the HLD-X9's. It just tells you to go to the website. So that doesn't help, since the site isn't exactly functioning. |
