I had one of these once - I wish I'd hung on to it now - I sold it for not a lot on eBay UK a while back. They are a nice machine, solidly built from the same era as the DVL 909 & 919; any of these players from with the bonus of DVD/VCD compatibility interest me, even though some people don't rate them, I think they are great. |

I do want to get ahold of one of these as a back up karaoke player. I have to be picky as I need one that has CD+G capabilities like this one as I have quite a few of those. |

There's one locally for 150.00 US. Are these good players? I already have a DVL-90. Does it have DTS/AC3? |

I think the option to be able to play dvd is worthless... In my opinion the DVL players are of inferior quality compared to normal LD players. Better to get a LD only player and play ur DVD's on your BluRay player. I think the only one worth getting is the DVL-919-E because it can play PAL laserdiscs. I never use it for DVD playback. |

Don't believe it's DTS capable as the LaserdiscArchive entry says nothing about it. It's worth getting if you plan on using it for karaoke (since it's a karaoke player!) Since it plays CD+G, VCD, LD and DVD, it will pretty much play any karaoke disc. And who really cares about picture quality when doing karaoke? So long as the text is legible and the music is audible! |
