this is the EAD TheaterVision which is based on Pioneer CLD-99 with audio upgrades(att out). Claims to be serviced by Duncan from bayview electronics. asking $599+shipping very reasonable for this rare player.

I found one of those posted in the CD Player section of Ebay a few years back (it was the version with the gold finish.) Wasn't near a computer when the auction ended, because I did want to bid.

It sold for $265. I wanted to shoot something for not being able to bid on that back then!

Well, they added that pro digital audio connector . . .

. . . and took out the toslink. Don't know if you need any extra boards for that connection though.

Wonder if you can apply this mod to this EAD player since it's a CLD-99 under the hood?

CLD-99 Mod

Or is it even more crowded under the hood of that EAD box?

It's basically an entire CLD-99 dropped into a big metal box. Same power supply, just the "EAD" audio added. I have a couple of the EAD boards which I'm planning to install into a couple of LD-S9s.

How much is a typical repair on LD players? I've got a non functioning DVL-700 that I bought for the remote. They said it worked part of the time but I plugged it in and couldn't get it to power up. I just put it back in the box and shelved it for now.
