I got this on eBay a little while ago for about $75 (with remote and manual). The thing is, I don't know exactly how well it performs. See, I have no other player for reference and I can find nothing on the web (in fact, I googled "Mitsubishi M-V8000" and one of the first few links was
a thread I made on AVS about it), but a rather bare
LaserDisc Archive page. The player seems pretty good, but does anyone know how it compares to other players?
Also, the archive doesn't say this, but it's from 1990, measures 16.5625"x17.25"x5.1875" and features a TOSLINK S/PDIF port.
EDIT: I don't know if this will help figure out what it was cloned from, but it features a "Picture enhancement" button on the top left of the player's front panel that (as far as I can tell) just darkens the screen (It didn't change apparent noise levels or Snell & Wilcox pattern results). Do any Pioneer players do that?
