Here's a Denon that's supposedly a PAL/NTSC player, atated to be a clone of the CLD-D515 =

Is this actually true? I've heard conflicting reports, some that say it is, and also some that say the model sold in the US/Canada isn't PAL/NTSC.

If it actually is, the price is pretty good. I know somebody was looking for one.

I'm not so sure that the player is because every PAL/NTSC machine I've encountered proudly states the fact on the front. Also if you look at the pictures of the back of the machine you can see it says NTSC but nothing about PAL. The laserdisc archive says it's PAL/NTSC but it only lists this in the features segment and says nothing about it in the review, it could be a mistake.

Looking about a bit more I found that the LA-2300A is PAL/NTSC and states it on the front of the machine, the almost identical look of the player and the similar model number could be where the confusion is coming from.

Hope this helps.

I'd agree with hippiedalek. It clearly says NTSC only on the back. Also if it was PAL capable it would have SCART sockets from that era but there are none.
It is NTSC only - buyer beware.

Yeah, I'm going to go with a no on the PAL/NTSC as well . . . wouldn't a PAL capable player have a 220V power supply?

As well as SCART connections?
