| Post subject: | LD players - Way too many and they just keep coming,,, |
Over a year ago probate finally ended on our Dad's old Electronics Shop and house, and we took possession of rooms of electronics and moved them to his then empty house north of LA. We now refer to that house as the "Store-Room". This move included LD players, CED players, Betamax, VHS, Amps, Receivers, Speakers, and tons of small things, like tubes, transistors, capacitors, etc. The good working stuff we've been selling off since a year ago. Those are the things that he either had repaired himself and wasn't paid or gotten somehow for resale in the shop, etc. Last year we counted over 40 LD players and over 40 CED players, and hadn't gotten to the Beta and VHS stuff yet, not to mention many, many boxes unopened yet. (Some of those boxes have still sealed laserdiscs, CEDs, Betamax and VHS tapes!) Just the other day, I took a trip there and started to inventory the VCRs and amps/receivers, and look into some of the dozens of boxes. I found 6 MORE LD players and 3 more CED players in the boxes. I also discovered a beautiful small-sized Grundig-Majestic tube stereo AM-FM-SW from the late 1950s, and it works! But that's another story. Anyway, I found the Panasonic LX-900u that I was sure I'd seen in the shop but couldn't locate before, in a sealed box, and also a CLD-D704 (my son put dibs on it already), including two multi-voltage players and another DVL and another D504. The LX-900u went right away, but if you want to see the whole list of stuff, so far that is, here you go: http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/ele/3199246048.html If you see an error on a player just say so, it was a tough job and I'm not overly sensitive. No CED players here, those I put in the CEDmagic classifieds = http://www.epage.com/js/csp/1064.html Worldwide interest is welcomed. |

This line got me excited: Quote: Anyway, I found the Panasonic LX-900u... in a sealed box(!) Then I read this: Quote: The LX-900u went right away... Great prices on the remaining players, though. |

Great prices on the remaining players, though. Sorry I should have said in a sealed box sealed with tape, not the original box. The 900u wasn't brand new, just a serviced one. Dad would seal the ones he'd fully serviced in nice boxes to give them that "like new" effect, that's all. I figured prices based on what I would think is fair to pay if I also had to pay shipping to get a good working player that would arrive well-packed and not in pieces. Since there's not an LD player classified section here for listing things I just threw them on this board here. I sure hope it isn't out of line, but I've always prefered fellow collectors who understand these devices, rather than the routine ebay-type buyer who gets into it for a lark, then can't understand what they're doing wrong when they hook up the AC3 out to a modern amp with no decoder. |

jjhunsecker wrote: Great prices on the remaining players, though. I'd agree - those prices are very reasonable. There would be nothing to touch those in the UK in terms of pricing. You need to dig real deep into your pocket if you want to buy a laserdisc player in the UK, especially in that quantity. |

Most of those bad boys are still sealed and I am afraid to open them as the price of most of them new is at least 40 a bottle or so, lol. |
