Post subject:  How to properly ship CLD-97 player?

I recently bought a CLD-97 player. I know that many players will have screw at the bottom to lock the assembly for transport (I don't know if the CLD-97 does) or there is a way to tell the player to be in a "transport mode", does anybody know what I should tell the shipper as to proper shipping procedures? I don't think he has the original box so I'm sure it's going to be banged up along the way. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Good day to you invenio,

Well done on your purchase friend!!!!!!!

I purchased a brand new CLD-97 around four & half years ago, so is there a shipping screw? if there is I would need to look at mine.

My player was shipped and had the recommended width of padding around three inches and underneath the Pioneer box, of which arrived in perfect condition double boxed, without a scratch on the box or the player.

If there is a holding screw then this would be clearly visible.

I live in the UK and have had 4 Laserdisc players shipped from the US in the past, and cannot remember taking off any holding screws, however I do remember a holding screw for the DV-09 and /38.

Have you already asked the seller about this or, have you tried any searches on the internet about this.

If not then I could look in my owners manual about this when I arrive home from work.

Please Let me know as you are very welcome.

I hope this was some help :(

Regards

;)

benmbe,
I haven't talked with the shipper (I will tonight). I wanted to check the boards here first. I unfortunately don't have the manual and I can't seem to find any pictures of the actual bottom of the player. Any help or input that you may have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

There is no transit screw on this model. The proper shutdown is to power the player on, then power it off. "Off" will show on the front display. When the display goes out the mechanics are parked. When I ship these I put a strip of painters tape on either side of the front drop down door to keep it place so the hinge doesn't break.
