Hi,

I own a LX-900 , recently adquired and have little trouble. In the start of any LD (Concerts ones, i tested 4 diferents), i get some cracks pops in sound in the first minutes of play. Passed some time and cracks goes out. Dont know if this a normal sympthom or something? Is like some cracks pops in high notes. I tested using rca connect to a old marantz, and too tested with optical to a home theatre and same effect.

If you also see some random colored dots on the screen then this could be early laser-rot in the LD. If the picture is just fine then the laser output could be a little weak.

Only thing you can try is to clean the laser lens.

Just an idea but, maybe some capacitors are starting to go bad? Like, swelling up or leaking stuff onto the PCB?
