What do you guys think about the result of this? Connect the X0 to the new OPPO BDP103 with 4k Upscale?
Altought my disply is only 1080p, i don't know if this upscalling will be any improvement over the 1080p?

No, if you're display even accepted 4k, it would just get scaled back to 1080p.

I agree, no point in upscaling to 4k, then going right back down to 1080p on your TV/projector (unless you have one of the 4k screens, if so please post pictures!). With every scaling function you just introduce more digital artifacts. However, if you want to use the oppo as a scaler to 1080p, that may give you a superior picture than using the scaler built into your TV.

its even worse... 240 lines to 2160p, thats almost 10 times the vertical resolution

But the scaller on the OPPO is amazing, maybe those 10 times resolution will be a big improvment without digital artifacts.

Once again, there is no benefit of going to 2160p vs 1080p as your display (whatever it is) doesn't support 2160p so it's going to be scaled down. Why would you want to scale up then scale down vs just scale up once. Each down scaling makes the picture quality worse. Listen, I love oppo, I own two of their players, but the fact is that there is no advantage of scaling beyond the resolution of your display/TV/projector.

So, get a 4k display to see the true capabilities of your X0/Oppo 103 combo!
