Not sure what the current status/thinking is.

I'd love to have a LaserDisc show. You could have all sorts of discs, rare titles, etc there. You could also have players ranging from low end to high end. We could have huge RPTV's displaying LD. I'd love to host something like this! I'm only 20 and have grown up with Laser all my life. I'm sick of the newer formats and how cheap they are. This would be a great way to get Laser fans together. Could even promote more business for Duncan, Kurtis, and Duane, because people who buy discs will need working players. Not to mention DaDon's, LaserDisc Vault and many others. I'd love to make this happen!

i would love to, but i don't think there is any money to be made, it will be a loss convention.

i tried to do a guitar show here in nashville, always lost money and the space wasn't that expensive.
i was also only charging 20 for a space, if i sold out my 6 spaces i would have paid for the rental and had no loss.

When I said sick of new formats I meant how cheap the product is. Blu Rays are great pq wise but I feel like I'm getting less. Not to mention how cheap the "Fisher Price" best buy models are compared to like the CLD 97, etc. Only one I would get is the Pioneer BDP 09FD, but that was discontinued.

I'd be totally down, but I think the problem is we collectors are few and far between. Granted, I'd love to have a show where I could sell some of my more common discs and not be hindered by the $13 it costs for me to ship one disc from Canada, but to find a location that works for everyone would probably be tough. However, if it was within driving distance, I'd try and find a way to make it out.

I know DaDaon has the ultimate setup, even it was bbq and refreshments and have DaDon show off his xo setup. Then Duncan is just down the rd from him, I would have to fly 1500 miles.

Just a gathering, then Dunc could sell players in person,etc. It would be good time all around with The Hunters and their JD!!

Im going to be at the Hollywood show this weekend selling lds! One guy show with my 8 year old.

yes! give me a reason to travel back to the US for a long weekend =)

A lovely idea as I would really like to meet the members on this site however, the only realistic thing that I could imagine happening is if some of yourselves were to come over to the UK for a visit, then it could be possible to meet up for a meal ect.....

I am sure that many others on this site can relate to this.

Good suggestion thou and who knows something may happen a get together of some sort.

Problem with that is security wouldn't let most of us board the plane with what we would want to "carry on"

With the majority of the forum members in the US that's probably the best place to hold it, but me and benmbe can just have our own convention, I'm sure we could find a good pub somewhere to natter about LD
