i actually already held such an LD fan day, back in the days when i owned a home theater shop. we called it the laserdisc weekend... here is some info: http://www.audiofreaks.nl/index.php?page=articledetail&articleid=72Its an article, my invitation actually, and its in dutch so perhaps google can help you translate and heres some more, even with a couple of pics: http://wantenbeeldenklank.avconcepts.be/?page=news&id=2427We actually opened up a CLD-515 and an LD-S2 to explain its anatomy. I would be happy to join a convention... but would we do it in the USA, europe or Japan ?

I shall hold a solo convention of sorts...via Skype. Some of us should consider that idea. Exchange #s for Skype communication. Players and discs could be prominently dispayed, "convention style".

Good morning Remington, If only I had skype eh! I cannot see myself having a p.c let alone any other feature such as Skype, not for the next year or so. Of all the suggestions mentioned this would ultimately be the most practical. Great idea The main thing for me to focus on at the moment, is to have my CLD 97 modified for AC-3 RF output as this in itself will cost around £150+ inclusive of Petrol to drive around 60miles each way, and then on top of which labor cost's to install the mod. I hope life is treating you well remington Regards to you

signofzeta wrote: The biggest LD market per capita was always Japan, and probably still is. I'd vote we hold it there, but sadly there are like three Japanese members here so...that's kind of a dead end. Is there some place on the internet where Japanese LD fans hang?
I'm afraid the scene is just too spread out these days. Even the vintage computer guys and their weird conventions are more popular.
I suppose...we could do a tally of where everyone is at by region. I'd wager the American midwest is disproportionally hardcore about LD like they are about everything else. Maybe there are a dozen of us close enough to some place like Ohio that we could arrange some kind of meeting. True, I've sent alot of laserdiscs to Texas!
