 Post subject: Is there any difference in quality with champagne DVLs ?

I keep seeing seeing several champagne DVLs 909/919 on ebay i learned that they will play in USA without anything extra to plug into i was wondering except for the body are they built any better?

They're probably just the Hong Kong models of those DVL playerswith a voltage selector.

I believe they're also region-free for the DVD playing portion.

Other than that, nothing different.

Or maybe they were rare to come by? Anyway, I would skip the DVL machines and go for a CLD machine.

I own 4 cld-406s & 3 dvl players but its always fun looking at them havnt found a low enough price yet for another player.

I like the color, as it's a complement to the older vintage 80s stuff I have in one setup. But the two players I got from HK are silver, which I like better.

As far as DVLs are concerned, they are nice players for the most part and do give you nice playback that is much better than any CLD player I've had with the possible exception of the 704. However, my DVL 700 did much better on speckly rot LDs than did the 704.

I own 2 DVL 919s & a 700 which im currently running i do enjoy seeing what prices they fetch.
