Do you think that the original box is enough for shipping any of these players ? how much space for soft material are there inside the original box ? I would guess that 10-15 cm to each sidewall would be enough, but mayby the original box is even more slim than that....

anyone owns en x9, x0 box ?

edit: the question was with oversea shipping.

I shipped an X9 to Europe in the original box with an outer box "skin". Added additional padding to the factory packing "blocks". It made the trip safe and sound, arrived on the other end with no issues. I'd say the factory box is fine but I would suggest double boxing (even if it fits tight in the outer box...it just adds extra wall strength)...

The original box is fine for casual moving but for oversea shipping, you have to find an even bigger box that can fit the LD player original packing + bubble wrap on all sides.

Shipped 3 HLD-X9s this way, never had a problem.

Regards,
Julien

I have an original X9 box and wouldn't recommend using it on its own.
Definitely double box in a much stronger outer box for overseas shipping.

Actually foam inserts that came in X9 box are easily broken so you may want to add extra protection internally as well.

I don't know about shipping over there, but here you've got to have the outer box as well if you want the insurance coverage to pay off. The original box and styrofoam was fine for it being trucked to the stores where it was always set upright, not tossed down a conveyor system, and handled better since it had to be sold after delviery.

Another outer box I think is wise, even if costs a bit more.
