From the Questions section:

"Q: Much as I would like to own one of these, I can't justify spending the cash. What you have is a variant of the very first laserdisc player for home use. In 1978 MCA launched DiscoVision in Atlanta. They had a bunch of titles and a player - the Magnavox Magnavision 8000. The player had some problems so it was updated and relaunched as the VH-8000 in 1980. It was basically the same machine. DiscoVision was shut down in 1983 but the format lived on with the name LaserVision and later, LaserDisc. So your player is a piece of AV history. Good luck with the auction."

I saw that before. He's an idiot if someone is willing to pay that amount. The newer models don't that much and how about Hi-Vision isn't that a bit much to get into that either? you can easily justify getting a bunch of rare titles for that amount but not the damn player even an early one.

I have one of these players that I got for less than $50. But it's used of course. Recently on ebay, a new in box one, that came out of some old lady's closet according to description, went up and got a couple hundred if I recall correctly, or maybe a little more.

Wow!!, I normally get $700 to $750 for a fully tested with AC-3 RF added CLD-97's. If they get 3.4g for this I'll be shocked
