Hi all, i'm having an issue with my Pioneer CLD-D604.

At first the CD tray would eject automatically when you turn it on. I'd try to close it but it would go back in then eject again. Also, if you try to eject the LD, it closes the CD tray and then the CD tray ejects again. Essentially there was no way to have the LD player powered on without having the CD tray ejected.

Then I opened up the unit and cleaned out some dust. I also noticed that the LD tray was slightly stuck.

So i've made a little progress. When I power on it no longer ejects the CD tray uncontrollably.

The LD player ejects and I can put LDs in but when I hit play it sounds like its scanning it but then it ejects the LD tray.

Im getting closer! Any ideas?

Did it really finish the load cycle? with the top off when you load the tray help lift up the laser mechanism to verify that load belt is not slipping. Next thing is the laser assembly movement gears break loose in the gray attachment housing and the motor holder needs to be replaced.

I don't know if it finished the load cycle. I think what I'll do is film the actual process, put it up on youtube and share the link here so you guys can see exactly what's happening. I don't have too much confidence in my ability to describe it:-P

Take videos with the top off. Also when you put in the LD when you hear the noise just try lifting up on the mechanical assembly you see raise and see it that changes how it acts.

A video might be best so ldservice can see what is happening.
