I was splunking around on the Pioneer parts site and looked at the V2000. It's a typical hodge podge of different (lower end, usually) models for the V2xxx line - the LD-838D base (w/o digital audio), but with the IO port kept on (ala earlier models and the Japanese version)... and the pickup from the CLD-1010.

Anyone got one and can see if it's actually got a red laser? It's possible only the earlier builds have it, as the player was produced into 1990. And even if I have one, I'm not sure I can adjust it properly...
