Hi all. I recently picked up an awesome Pioneer CLD-99 and it came with what I thought was the OEM remote. I got home and looked a little closer and it was one for the CLD-52. Does anyone have an OEM remote for the CLD-99? It's a CU-CLD117. I've looked and can't find that thing anywhere and it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

99 and 79 Elite remotes been out of stock for years from Pioneer, those other sites used to just order from Pioneer.
Some of those remote sites off a special remote with the codes to use all functions including the 3D filter and NR settings.
Any place that says out of stock on the original remote will always be out of stock.
Hope this helps,
Duane

That's a bummer also. Well, I have my eBay set to search for it and maybe a fine member here will come across one. The money isn't really an issue, it's finding the thing. Thank you though.

Seeing as how it's proving next to impossible to find the OEM remote for my CLD-99, can anyone recommend a cheap universal to tide me over until I can source a original? I know that the expensive ones with programmable buttons can access the extra features of the 99, but are there any cheap or older ones that can without the original (such as a cheap RCA or OneForAll, etc). If anyone can think of one they used in days passed would also be much appreciated.

substance wrote: Bmich1, I noticed you have an arsenal of hd dvd players and drives. I have a few myself as well, including the xbox add on drive. I read in a few places the xbox add on can play some of the discs which the standalone players won't read. Do you have any opinion on this?
Also for anyone who might have an idea, does the type of the xbox 360 matter for this add on? I don't have the xbox 360 but considering buying one to use the add on. Xbox 360 E is the latest model which I am considering. Any opinions? Out of all my players I really haven't noticed any particular disc not working necessarily in one player vs another. Now my XA2 and A35 do run them more efficiently and have more bells and whistles tho (and do seem more efficient). I had an XA1 many moons ago, but it was a little glitchy from what I remember and stuck to gen 2 or 3. If I did have to pick a model or two it would be the XA2 or the A35 as the ones to get. Just update the firmware to the latest and enjoy. Just my opinion. The 360 add on ran perfectly on both my original and slim models. I'm assuming it will run the same on an E model. With ever evolving firmware updates for the 360, HD DVD playback is most certainly an afterthought, but it is still there. When the drive is connected, the dashboard doesn't look any different. The old firmware had an upper and lower eject (for the 360 and player) but that has long gone. Now you just hit the eject on the player, insert the disc and it'll start playing. Kudos to Microsoft for supporting this all this time. As a side note, if you have a PC, you can use the player to watch HD DVD movies on your computer IF you have the right configuration and support on the PC side of it.

Write me at kbahr@comcast.net as I may have an extra CU-CLD117 or CU-CLD120 remote. The 120 is for the CLD-79 and has the same button but a different tint on the overlay background.
