supposedly this is a high end Sony. anyone know anything about it? it almost seems like a Hi-Vision Player

Yeah, but the two models I was talking about were from the MDP-V series. The comment was taken out of context.

Unless the seller shows a video or capture of the quality of the picture of the Sony LD player (to see if it has the regular Sony LD symptom of a darkened or grainy picture), I wouldn't bother with it.
