Yesterday I was bidding a beautiful CLD-1450. And I happened to win it.

$111.38 is a bargain for the player. This player has only one psychical blemish. I could say it is as new.
The great thing is that it can play both PAL and NTSC discs. However I heard that NTSC discs show a black band along the top and bottom of the screen. I am thinking of performing the mod.
I am not worrying about these things yet as I just want to play some discs and test for LD Rot because I have not tested any discs in about one whole year. I heard it plays many of the earlier discs great as well (Discovision and MVC titles).
Im a perfectionist so that could of contributed to how long it took me to get a replacement player. Also LD players here are very expensive compared to other countries. I was lucky I got this one so cheap.

Good Day randomtvandmovie,

Well done on your purchase, have you received it yet?

I looked at the picture of the player and to be honest it looks immaculate.

Let us know how it performs.

Sincere Regards

Nope not yet. Just won the auction yesterday. The seller also has 6 or 7 discs and is sending the list. I should have the player in about two weeeks max.

I was watching that auction, and was almost tempted to make a bid. My main player has just recently thrown in the towel and I have gone to my backup, so I'm in the market for a new one.

I'm watching a CLD-1750 that's listed, but the buy it now price is too rich for my blood. Over $300 and it doesn't come with the remote. I offered $100 for it and got knocked back. If I can get some more money together perhaps I'll offer a bit more, but I could always just play the waiting game for something better at a reasonable price.

Nice work on your new player, hope it performs as good as it looks.

I can recommend the 1750, it's a pretty decent player unless you want the side flipping. Not $300 worth but I don't know what they usually go for in the US. I recon I'd be lucky to get about £60 for mine over here.

Thanks for the recommendation, I've actually mentioned before in another thread that I like the idea of single side players as it removes a level of mechanical complexity to the machine. I'd prefer reliability and longevity over convenience.
