I am able to get one of these units for about 300€, is it really worth it? I am currently using LD-V4300D, that I would keep anyway. It's also coming with VSA-E06, but it's kinda broken (sound goes more quiet over time).

I wouldn't pay any more than that, I would try to lower that price if possible. These DVL models are at the mediocre range and people usually tries to fetch big money on them. There are alot of other players out there you could have for less money. :)

I am pretty much just looking for unit that would do flawlessly with digital audio, as my intention is to just capture audio with that unit, LD-V4300D is more for video here (I will be working with the raw capture method). I managed to get price down to ~230€ without the VSA-E06 which is useless to me.

Out of the box, the PAL/NTSC DVL's are the best of a mostly sad lot of players. So at least higher prices are somewhat justified compared to the NTSC versions ;)

For what you're doing any player with digital audio out will be fine, and you can follow a recent thread here to bypass the PALB board if you need higher quality from it. Anything from the 2950 on will be pretty easy to RF tap too.

Well, I have purchased it for even less, ~225€, thanks guys. What remote should I buy for it? There are universal remotes on Ebay, but will I have all the options with it?

Thanks, I know that original remote is available on Ebay, but it costs almost as much as I paid for device itself. I want to know if with these universal remotes I will have access to same functions.

i don't think you can use all pioneer settings with a universal remote.
you want picture settings on/off, universal remote won't handle this.

pioneer remote is expensive, wait till another one pops up for less money which will take 4-ever.

How about importing some remote from USA? They seem to be pretty cheap there ($10-$20), but which model should I take?

with X-pensive shipping cost and most sellers use crappy and scheize eBay global shipping programme you might end up with similar money buying a remote from US eBay?

I have reship service in Poland and I often send packages from USA which costs me like $20-$30 for few kilograms of packages, so it's no big deal for me to buy it from US. I just need to know which model of remote should I get.

For 200 euros (around £180ish) I would be expecting a player in first class order to come with the remote!!!

The CU-DV014 remotes do sometimes pop up on ebay UK & usually go for quite fair prices, not that often though but might be worth checking now & then.

Good luck with the hunt.

Thanks, but is there any other model that I could use and get all the options? I kinda want to get right into using that player, as the video alone looks great on it right now :)

If anyone can confirm that a US Remote will work with a EUR Player, I have a DVL-700 remote that I'm willing to sell.

The remotes look similar, just that the US remote is black . . .

They seem to have exactly same buttons, so I will try my luck and buy it from you. Can you give me the details on PM?

It's been a long time, but actually I think the players are 99.9% the same and the remotes work. Most of the pioneer remotes work on eachother.

They will both work the unit - only difference is the colour.
