| Post subject: | S-Video input on a new unprovided TV set |
Hi everybody, I want to share my experience with my good LD player and my LED TV. I own a Pioneer CLD-D925 player, I acquired it just recently but I always was in love with LD since the 80's I'm a vintage Hi-Fi addicted and always loved old systems, quadraphonics etc... Long story short: I had the chance to buy a good Panasonic S-VHS videorecorder and, as I said, my first LD player. They both have S-Video output but my Samsung UE40C7000 TV doesn't have it anymore, as well as most of modern TV sets. I loved how good a simple component signal could be managed by my TV but sometimes I feel like I need more color definition as I used to remember the S-Video signal (I did some tests on a plasma TV that has S-Video input). I also bought a composite+svideo to SCART adapter but a simple S-Video signal can't be handled in color, just in B/W. As long as mistakes could lead to good results, it happened I forgot to unplug the yellow composite signal while I was connected with S-Video. And VoilĂ !!! Color appears as good as if it should be!! I was going to think that it depended on the composite signal itself, but I was surprised when I tried to disconnect S-Video cable and reconnect again, it really changes the quality of color signal, just as it IS handling S-video properly. So, connect S-Video along with the composite yellow cable and you'll get a better color signal just my 2 cents. Ciao, Luca |
