I just purchased a Pioneer Elite DVL-90 to replace my CLD-S104 which I know is a bottom rung player to say the least. I really was after a player with better picture, optical audio output, auto-flip etc. Did I get a crappy player? About the only opinion I could find was that the DVD/LD combo players sacrificed a lot for the sake of playing both formats. Is this true? How does this stack up against players like the Elite CLD-59, CLD-D704, or the Elite CLD-79? I spent under $150, but I really don't know if I should keep it or sell again and find another unit. Anyone owned this one who can tell me about its quality? Thanks!

The DVL-90 and CLD-59 are both supposed to use the CLD-604. The CLD-D704 and CLD-D79 are the same mechanically and both outperform the CLD-604 and like players. Though the DVL-90 is a pretty good player. The only players really above it would be the LX-1000u, LX-900 and like players, CLD-704 and like players, CLD-97 and like players, LD-S2 and HLD-XO
