I do have a mostly working player. Single side, works ok. The problems I get from it is that you have to fuss with drawer to open and sometimes it squeeks on playback. I have tried cleaning it like crazy but it does not help. It may not be worth paying for shipping on a half working unit though. I would let go real cheap though. If you are handy with such things you may be able to refurbish. I can fix a lot of console issues but LD players are a little out of my league!

It would have the remote. It is a pioneer, but you will have to have to give me till later to get into closet for model number. I want to be straight honest man, this thing is iffy, I cannot promise its functionality. There were times when it played a movie through just fine and then others when it would start acting goofy squeeking etc....

I can only hook it up turn it on and verify it will play a movie, but honestly I dont really have the time to go on a movie marathon to test it. I say this because it has also been sitting awhile and it has been my experience in the past that sometimes when electronics sit other things start to happen. I know this whole thing seems like overkill in explanation but I dont want anything unsaid about this unit, I would only deal it to someone who knew exactly what they were getting into.

The main reason I kept it was parts as the laser does work and there may be other good parts in there. Oh, by the way, as for value, in its current condition I see worth about 20 bucks, mainly for the replacement parts. LOL, the remote is worth more than that. I will look up later but I think they are going around 20 bucks. Truthfully, as a package I would value it as 30 bucks. The killer is shipping!!!!!!! Will it survive USPS is the other LOL

I got it out and tested. Seems to be working fine right now. No noise or problems with the tray. BUT.... I am not promising anything with this unit. Please note, I can only sell or trade this as-is. As long as you are okay with this we can wheel and deal.

It is a model CLD-M403 and I also have the remote for it. Now this is the Pioneer brand remote I got with it. I am pretty sure it is the matching one, but it could have been from another player. It works though so nothing to worry.

TL;DR - fairly cheap pioneer unit "CLD-M403" with remote. is it worth it?

What part of the country are you in? Shipping can be not only costly but damaging to the player. I would recommend finding a player in your area for around that price range.

The M series are multi CD players or CD changers also and have more problems due to a lot more mechanics. If you have to pay $30 for it I'd find a CLD-S201 or 104 which would be a lot more reliable and about the same price.

You can get players for a lot cheaper in your area. For players craigslist is your friend.

i would be giving him 3 laser discs, goonies, beetlejuice and who framed roger rabbit and a nes repro/hack that i basically got for free but is worth $25-30. so my value is about $50-60

it has the remote, he said he doesn't know if it is the original one but it works well.

If the machine works, and you can get it delivered try it. If there is anything wrong with it, seriously consider what you are about to do. There are many machines out there that work fine. The trade sounds pretty decent though.
