Well... I own 12 cld-d925 players all working in mint condition I know they are not "high end" but they are " great all eating players " these players spin every LD available PAL SECAM NTSC you name it this one does it all... one cld-d925 new in the box and sealed one cld-1950 with ac-rf upgrade (my first player and working just fine) one cld-950 one cld-d515 I do not like scratched or blemished players so I bought several spare parts new from Pioneer Belgium. exterior parts like the top bonnet, front panel, even the buttons get replaced if they look used. Every player I own gets the royal treatement when found second hand (as common these days...) A new drive belt. 9/10 a new motorholder and prc hub. A good cleaning of the rubber ring on the spindle motor. sufficiant lubing of the mechanics. Until this day I never had a player that was left unrepaired besides two cld-d925's I keep for second hand spare parts. Power supply for example... These days I find as much joy in repairing the players as I do in collecting discs Found a few players these past years destined to go out with the trash as pioneer said... well they are all up and running after a few hours of patience I guess they don't bother to repair a player anymore at the Pioneer service center. Recently I found myself a dvl-919 (the last European combi player manufactured) it was total loss according to the service center. They told the previous owner this by charging about 55 euro they must have figured "It's just not worth it anymore" picked up the player for a ridiculous low price and after placing a new drawer belt , cam gear, motor holder and cleaning the laser it worked like a charm. Not that it is a super high end device but I thought it would be nice to save this one. I'm not a big fan of combi players so I sold it a few months ago They think blu these days I guess Love to hear if there are any other lunatics out there hamstering players

My main player? Well to be honest my system is not setup that well at the moment however, the main player that has had the most use is the Pioneer DVL 909. When I eventually get it all up and running then the CLD 97 / 99 and HLD X9 will be in regular use. I have an HLD X0 reserved and hopefully this will also be up and running when purchased ''when'' being the question right now? I shall look forward to comparing them when the time comes........It's only taken nearly 14years to get this far. Sincere Regards to all

Pioneer LD-V8000 Main player (Master Bedroom) Pioneer CLD-D504 Living room Pioneer CLD-D503 Out on loan Pioneer CLD-890 Back-up player RCA LDR-600 The player hooked up to my computer for Youtube videos. A very good model. All five are good players, but the LD-V8000 is the best by far. STAY AWESOME!

Got two CLD-D925. I change between them every couple of months, because I think it is best for them to be used once in a while. Then I have a CLD-2950 as a spare (and a couple of other too). I'm looking for a Elite-player right now, but they're really quite expensive, and also pretty rare around here (Denmark). I would be sooo nice to get one, but I know, I'll need therapy the day I actually own one, and it breaks down on me!! Actually, that is another redeeming quality about standard-players: they're pretty easy to replace. Maybe I should get more into the repairing-thing before getting one of 'em big Elite-Mamas

kaosnews wrote: Received a 'broken' Pioneer DVL-919E (bought it really cheap because it was 'broken') today. It was fixed really easy so I've got a new main player Nice. I did the same, though I'm currently waiting for the parts to fix it, just two broken bits of plastic. What was wrong with yours?

Sounds like your tray had just come off the gears. Good find there! Another broken part meant the side change wasn't working but again easily replaced. I've been really impressed with the DVL 919E so far, I've heard a lot of people talking it down but it's an excellent player in my opinion.

This is umm a little hard to say? Pioneer DVL-909 is only used for laserdisc as and when its hardly if not ever used as DVD player, it might serve for CD most times. Pioneer DV-515 serves for mostly region 1 DVD discs its multi-regional and it serves very little for CD expect for the past 24 hours where its had Jerra In China CD playing some 5 or 8 times in one night. Pioneer DV-525 serves as waiting for power point as I have ran out of plug sockets! Its only region 2 DVD player and when back up and running might serve as CD player. Yamada DVR-9300HX serves as same as DV-525 no power point as this time and would serve as DVD-RW or laserdisc. Phillips BDP700 bluray/DVD/CD player serves mostly for DVD R2 and no D2, lol it also serves for some lousy bluray titles and believe me its been playing mostly over the few months STAR TREK vintage TV show mono recoded off BBC2 in 1986 at 6pm midweek that was recoded onto VHS tape. Its had very little bluray use over the last few months. It also serves as CD player mostly for Madonna as she is the queen. Going back to bluray if its ever used bluray is only played back in lossless because I like to feed it though the optical to Yamaha RX-V650 so I can use any of the dts-ES or DOLBY DIGITAL-EX or other. Sony BDP-S550 only serves for 8channel DOLBY TrueHD 7.1 or dtsHD-MA 7.1 PCM 6channel or other only (its never used for CD player or DVD use). The outputs RCA analogue are sent to Yamaha 8channel input Pioneer CLD-1750 Pioneer CLD-2950 Both models above need a few little simple basic parts and the 1750 needs a bit more critical laser alignment to get it to track from inner side to outer side of the laserdisc and CD without skipping or freezing or other its not a big deal. 2950 needs little attention or special type of rubber that sticks to the clump that holds the disc in place and helps to slow it down fast when stopping the player or switching sides with laserdisc A to B. I think also another part not sure its ball bearing that is inside the clump as the part comes-apart in some 6 or 8 pieces? Its simple fix and alignment check that needs to be done to it, not a big deal fix. Sony DVP-S360 is bedroom use with Sony 28” 4:3 and is only used for Stereo but mostly I play mono films like Airplane or Futureworld mostly in the past but as since being doing nothing its having a break. PC tower DVD Multi drive whatever that means plays mostly DVD-RW tiles on the pc now (for most nights it depends) some films of recent The Andromeda Strain (1971) or STAR TREK TV mono shows DVD-RW are played only with one JBL Control 5 placed on top of the monitor so its small like mono home cinema while screen 1 is in the living room. So that’s what I use my players for, for now that is.

mikeystoyz wrote: you mean to tell me this is a good ld player? Hopefully Rix can get it working, lol. It needs to be dusted off but that is all it is. I have my 909 upstairs. I am going to put that one in the living room. I even have the remote and instructions for it. I might put a kenwood up in my room. Yes, that's a pretty good player. It's the Elite version of the CLD-3070. TLK
