I guess that I am the only Sony LD player owner on this forum. I have 2 Sony's: MVP-600 is my main player and an MDP-MR1 as backup. Both are 2 sided players with the MVP-600 having an optical port for digital sound. I do have a Pioneer player is storage; but, I don't remember its model number. It is a very simple player without 2 sided playing.

Main player CLD-D925 connected to JVC LCD panel. I need a dual PAL/NTSC player as I have many PAL music LDs.
Second player CLD-D925 connected to a Sony CRT in another room.
One of these systems will be supplemented with the recently acquired HLD-X9 but it will be used for recording from only.

That leaves me with the following backup players which are all boxed away for a rainy day:
Six Pioneer CLD-D925's
Four Pioneer DVL 909's
One Pioneer DVL 919
Two Pioneer CLD 2950's (one needs a bit of tuning)
One Pioneer CLD 780 (used this for a good year and a half solid and loved it but died earlier this year - I will attempt to fix this unit as it was a decent player).
One Sony MDP 850D - never liked this machine - so probably going to flog it!

I have an original Magnovax, or however you spell it. It works great and only weighs as much as the WEGA I bought, lol.

Pioneer CLD-1850

Sold my CLD-M401 (5 cd changer) which served me well for 16 years. Bought a CLD-704 in great condition. I was expecting some picture improvement, but the difference was like night and day.

Although I've been a DTS laserdisc collector for years, I just ordered my first RF demodulator. Hope to try it out this weekend.

That player was always known for it's quality of build and picture........Not to mention the fact that very few were ever built very exclusive indeed.

As of now my main player is the DVL-919E as I have now finished my repairs on it!

It is an amazing player! It needed a little work but I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. For some reason I find myself watching laserdiscs a bit more often these days.

From everything I've read, it's an audiophile version of the Pioneer Elite CLD-99.

I have a Pioneer CLD-1750 which I find is quite decent for what I paid for it all those years ago, considering what I know now looking around online. The only feature I wish it had was reverse play but I'm happy enough with it until I find a D925 at a decent price.

Only issue I have with it is the drawer sticks when it's ejecting (never loading) which I think may be down to a dodgy runner tooth. Maybe I'll take it apart and have a look if it gets too irritating.

Dont have much of a player to brag with, but my main and only ld-player is: DVL-919E

I've just upgraded to the DVL-919E, I'm pretty impressed with it so far, much better than my CLD-V2120D.

Well its a good player, thats for sure. But then again compared to the big shots like HLD-X0, HLD-X9 etc it doesent
stand much of a chance. For myself, I doubt i will try to get a better player then DVL-919E, since better players then that
would really cost more then I can chew

May I ask how much you payed for your DVL-919E?
Here in sweden those players have reached a really high price, a older model, DVL-909 on auction went for 615 dollars.

I was really lucky as I bought one of eBay that was listed as not working for around £15. A bit of elbow grease, two replaced parts and help from this forum and it's as good as new. There's a topic about my player in the technical support section, if you ever have problems with your player I hope it'll help.

It's certainly not the best player there is, but it beats the socks of off the likes of the HLD-X0, HLD-X9 etc for PAL playback : p

Yeah i can agree about the pal function on DVL-919E is awesome, compared to those 2 players

Yeah, but I've seen them sell for well over £150+ in the UK when they're fully working.

It's a good sturdy machine, I don't think you have anything to worry about. I think mine was just dropped at some point in its life as two parts, both on the same side as a small dent in the casing were broken.

My test player is a Panasonic LX-120
And my backup players are a Pioneer CLD-V2400 and a Pioneer LD-V2200(My first player)
