I am looking into a cdv-488 listed on craigslist, the seller has no price only "best offer" original remote not included. I made an initial offer but seller was not keen on it, I am wondering what a reasonable value for this player is? As I've read it is known for its audio quality and analog signal.

That's about what I was thinking, and without the remote maybe I had some leverage.
