Just wondering if any of this is rare also I've not seen a caption decoder pop up in a long time.

I think rare yes, worth the value no.

I remember that topic about those decoders and without those cartridges then you are SOL, so its just a shelf piece.
There are lots of things that I have only seen one of in my many years of collection, so its rare but not valuable.

I completely forgot that topic. it does seem weird that there isn't any mention of the cartridges.

I’d like to have one of those decoders but that player’s a piece of crap. Just look at that sad melted down Sony 90s design...they truly were the high and the low.*

And seriously. Any genius who wants to pretend you can’t tell %90 how good an LD player is just by looking at it can jump in lake. You totally can!

What was the original market for these again? I can’t remember.

forper- Do you like the Sony design? It would have to be one of the least appealing Sonys to me.

It wasn't SUNTECH at that time but it looks similar with MEGASOFT on it => Types of Closed Caption?
