The Bodysonic player got me thinking. How many are random brands that aren't the main brands like Pioneer, Sony, Panasonic or even the expensive ones like MCintosh?

YAMAHA produced a model or two of LDP in the late-80's.
far as i know, they were all original in-house designs, at that.

most other brands of LDPs ever made were PIONEER OEMs to a greater or lesser degree,
usually straight-up clones of existing PIONEER models...

I was always amazed when looking at the laserdisc archive to see how many there were, I'm sure there are even more but I think that site has been
up but not updated in some time.

I’m quite sure it was Philips that made all those earlier Yamaha models and then Pioneer took over sometime later.

Thus, the OEM manufacturers of LD players were Pioneer, Sony, Panasonic, and Philips/Magnavox.

I didn't find bodysonic there but was talking about all the players on that site, there are a lot of them from different brands.

I know what you talking about. I was just meaning that I wonder what the ones are that aren't listed like Bodysonic.

I'm sure its like the HK market of discs, there are probably a good few handful of players we don't know about.

No - Made up brand names from "The Simpsons" (yes, I had to look it up).
