Hey guys I am looking for my 2nd LD player, I have had my first one (Pioneer CLD-V2600) for over 10 years and it is still going strong.

For my next player I would like to get a decent model brand wise that also plays both sides without flipping, so if anyone could give me some good Brand/Model Numbers that play both sides I would appreciate it.

Which brings me to the thread title, the Pioneer LD-V6000A, someone near-ish (3hrs away) me has one for sale for $40. He said it is untested (he doesn't have an BNC connectors to test, luckily I do.) but can hear the motors working and the disc tray opens. It also comes with some car repair LD's so I assume its from a auto repair shop. It also comes with the remote.

I did a bit of research and found that is an industrial player that plays both sides. Has anyone had any experience? Is $40 a good price if it works? Should I take a weekend and head up there to test it out?

It doesn’t play both sides. I don’t think any (real) Industrial model does. It’s an absolute TANK though.

Ask the seller to plays the discs and listen to the audio. If that works then the video is probably fine too.

If it works without issues and if the remote is the original remote (RU-V6000), I feel $40 is reasonable. I don't know about a 6 hour round trip though. Keep in mind that this unit does not have digital audio.

Yeah, no Digital Audio is a big deal. If you mostly collect basic editions of movies in their original language/region then it’s not so bad but it can be a hassle. AC-3 movies are mono for sample. Goldeneye will only play commentary.
