I recently acquired a LD-V2200 that was in pretty bad shape. It somehow still functioned though. My main rule with LD players is of course "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!", but the amount of dust and dirt on the inside was at fire hazard levels. It had a decent amount of corrosion as well, so I assume it was kept outside.

Unfortunately, there is no service manual for the LD-V2200 uploaded here, so I referenced the CLD-3030 diagrams. Upon disassembling this player, I noticed how well made it is in comparison to the 1070/980/1080s. Picture quality seems better as well, but there is no digital audio. This player is definitely not as easy to work on though. It is hard to get the boards out and adjustments need to be made with the player on its side.

I've attached some photos here incase anyone is interested about the internals. FYI avoid removing the optical board if you ever decide to disassemble one of these. I removed mine and it still plays without noticeable alignment related issues, but I imagine something had to be thrown off just a little. I'll go back over it once I get a better oscilloscope.

It has definitely made me interested in obtaining a CLD-3030 now.

Sounds about right, mine was disgusting when I opened it too. I have a paper copy of the LD-V2200's service manual I've been meaning to scan for ages. Got it when mine suddenly became unable to spin up to full speed and would eject discs without braking, which I found out the hard way  . Spontaneously fixed itself before the manual arrived so I never even used it.

Yeah the vents on the top of the bonnet cause some serious dust issues. Other than that, the player is a tank.

If you could find some time to get that service manual scanned, I'd really appreciate it. I need to make some adjustments to mine.
