So I just found a CLD-800 at a flee market yesterday for just 20€.
Except for the front LEDs that are dying and the disc drawer that has difficulties opening and closing (by the way i'd like know what do you think the cause is, even though my guess is the rubber band to change, since the player stayed in a cave for years, i'll have to open it) the player plays discs pretty fine, as for the image quality I can't really say much because I don't see any differences compared to my memory of the time I was playing discs using the 925.
Anyway, the Laserdiscs returns once more for me, I'd like to know you guys thoughts on the deal for this player.

Looks pretty basic. In fact, it looks a lot like my CLD-950 in terms of features, and the laserdiscarchive says it's basically the same model as the CLD-700.

Are there any differences between these machines under the hood?

You mean between the 800 with the 950 and the 700 ?
If so I would not be able to tell from opening it since I don't know those two, I'll post pictures if you want

Oh right, I think I understand now, you meant "how well does it plays LD compared to those two"
Well, still can't tell since I don't know how well those two perfom

Looks to be a CLD-S201? If so, these were low-end players in the mid 90s, but I'm still fond of them.

Well, even though it's a low-end player, it gets the job done for now, and with a quite good picture actually, so I'm finally able to watch the mighty Laserdiscs again.
