Post subject:  Bought a Pioneer LD-V4400 for about $30 USD
I bought a Pioneer LD-V4400 with no remote for about $30 USd including shipping in Mexico .

I also purchased from a different seller "Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'em" . Side 1 has the short movie and side 2 has music videos.

Although the seller claimed the player "skips" I have never seen a skip .

I did clean the sled rails looking for what kind of lube to use on them . Some say Molly grease other say silicone grease.

I removed a layer of black (diesel exhaust??) from inside the unit.

Cleaned laser.

Both before and after cleaning, I get some discolorations on for instance saturated blue skies . Some scan lines turn red/piink (red/pink dances from scan line to scan line in blue saturated areas) . This happens more on side 1 of the Hamer Laseerdisk more than side 2. It seems side 1 has higher color saturation than side 2 . It is there on side 2 but less obvious. I am using a newer LED TV , just a cheapie 24 inch or so.

Does anyone have any ideas about this kind of color noise?

Use white lithium grease, very little don't glop it on. Less is more.

Sounds like what you have is an LD player, color saturation sounds normal and you need to adjust colors.
This is an older technology and you will always have these noises with older players that don't offer decoders or filters or enhancers.

One way to get rid of this is spend more on a player and or decoders, or get a video essentials or video standard and setup your TV.

No amount of adjusting causes these lines to go away. I never remember this kind of distortion on any Laserdisk in the 1980s or early 1990s when I used to use them all the time

I didn't read all, lines could be a poor cable?
Pics would help.
But some things will give noise in red colors.
