Just curious to see the span and volume of X0's ever manufactured by Pioneer Japan to confirm: https://forum.lddb.com/viewtopic.php?p=41110#p41110 substance wrote: per nicolas santini and suggested by serial numbers only 1500 hld-x0 were produced between 1995 and 1999(over 1000 were made in 1995). This ld was given with hld-x0 purchase. That suggest about 1500 pressed. I got #3251 which is from March 1995 (Serial: PC1003251T) I could find online a few pics (updating with users' numbers when provided) and will keep updating the lowest+highest production number for each month: (old numbering system: LL100NNNNT) PA - 1995 Jan - 3001~3048 PB - 1995 Feb - 3054~3087 PC - 1995 Mar - 3132~3304 PD - 1995 Apr - 3321~3359 PE - 1996 May - 3366 PF - 1995 Jun - 3383~3517 PG - 1995 Jul - 3521~3666 PH - 1995 Aug - 3707~3756 PI - 1995 Sep - 3806~3917 PJ - 1995 Oct - 3921~3963 PK - 1995 Nov - 3982~3995 PL - 1995 Dec - 4070 QA - 1996 Jan - (none found) QB - 1996 Feb - (none found) QC - 1996 Mar - (none found) QD - 1996 Apr - (none found) QE - 1996 May - 4072~4106 QF - 1996 Jun - 4129~4170 QG - 1996 Jul - 4171~4214 QH - 1996 Aug - (none found) QI - 1996 Sep - 4230~4266 QJ - 1996 Oct - (none found) QK - 1996 Nov - 4300~4319 QL - 1996 Dec - 4349~4368 RA - 1997 Jan - (none found) RB - 1997 Feb - 4388~4407 RC - 1997 Mar - (none found) RD - 1997 Apr - (none found) RE - 1997 May - (none found) RF - 1997 Jun - (none found) RG - 1997 Jul - (none found) RH - 1997 Aug - 4434 RI - 1997 Sep - 4446~4455 (new numbering system: LLTT00NNNNJP) RJ - 1997 Oct - 4463~4473 RK - 1997 Nov - 4492-4493 RL - 1997 Dec - (none found) SA - 1998 Jan - (none found) SB - 1998 Feb - (none found) SC - 1998 Mar - (none found) SD - 1998 Apr - (none found) SE - 1998 May - (none found) SF - 1998 Jun - 4502~4503 SG - 1998 Jul - (none found) SH - 1998 Aug - (none found) SI - 1998 Sep - (none found) SJ - 1998 Oct - (none found) SK - 1998 Nov - (none found) SL - 1998 Dec - (none found) TA - 1999 Jan - (none found) TB - 1999 Feb - (none found) TC - 1999 Mar - (none found) TD - 1999 Apr - (none found) TE - 1999 May - (none found) TF - 1999 Jun - (none found) TG - 1999 Jul - 4524~4577 Looks like Pioneer:

Wow, this is really interesting. I just discovered this! Mine is QF1004170T so it was most likely manufactured in May/June 1996. I read in another thread that you solved the P5 error on MUSE discs yourself. I feel like a complete idiot now because I had the exact same problem with mine in the beginning and I actually had it opened by someone to have the lens/laser cleaned. That solved the problem but I can see now that I could have saved the money for the repair by simply playing a couple of discs from beginning to end. That was clever. I am looking forward to reading your review on the X0. It is a wonderful player ( no chroma noise which is amazing ) however a bit sensitive to warped discs. |

Mine is PC1003262T. Which puts it around March 1995. My x0 is faulty though. It plays discs but with a bit of a distorted picture. I bought it from someone last year and I still havent set it up in my house for proper testing. It's too heavy, I'm scared to move it from room to room. |

I have not seen one of these beauties in the flesh but knew someone who had one years ago & I think he said it came in at around the 36 or 38 kilo mark - would that be about right? There are not many things that I lust after but the HLD-X0 is one of the few things that I would be more than happy to own. Everyone who has one enjoy . . |

It's a shame really. I keep it wrapped up in a towel in the spare room. I dont have the space at the moment to have it set up. One of the s video ports on it has been crushed and when the guy demonstrated it to me the picture was clearly corrupted. Maybe it's a dirty laser? Or maybe because he was using the remaining working s video port, the broken one could be interfering with it? I will make a thread about it one day. When I'm either strong enough to lift it from its corner. Or when someone with steady hands wants to help me lift it. Needless to say I got it very cheap. And even if it's just a parts machine it's still worth having in the flesh. I would say it's about 35 kilos. Very heavy. The guy I bought it from put it in the boot of my car for me because I dont think he trusted me to lift it. Getting it from my car to my house was a struggle. |

Yes, it is a very heavy machine. I can barely lift it and I am 2,01 m tall and weigh around 105 kilos. I am sorry to hear your picture is corrupted. Did you try the cinch video output ? Is it corrupted, too ? There is a British chap in London I believe who owns a X0, too. He appears to be very knowledgeable and seems to have repaired his X0 by himself. I love my X0 even though I think it could handle warped discs better. It is a very beautiful player. It took me a lot of effort to get one. I do not regret it. |

It took me a lot of effort to get one. I do not regret it. I havent had a good opportunity to pull it out of its corner and test it properly because of how heavy it is. To think, I've got an x0 in my house and i've never set it up! I bought it knowing it was faulty and because of the cheap price. I also thought I had a guy who could fix these things. Turned out to be a complete scumbag. Told me it would take a week to fix my 95, which would only sometimes cross talk on side b playback. He phoned me after a month to say the machine was completely dead and wouldnt play any disc. My heart started racing because it worked when I gave it to him. Did he break it? Cut a long story short, turned out he bought a pal copy of Crimson Tide from ebay for testing purposes. Of course the 95 doesnt play pal discs!! I was furious. Anyway, waited 3 months in total to get it back and after having shelled out £150 for the repair, the problem still persists. I'm convinced he did nothing to it. Definitely werent going to give him the X0 after that! Not sure about elsewhere in the world but we have a word for people like that in the uk. Cowboy. Having said all that, if I cant learn to fix these things myself then I will need to find someone eventually who can. Who is this British guy? |

I have asked the gentleman to get back in touch with you. I am not sure whether he would appreciate it if I was to write his name here without asking him. I am sorry to hear that you paid £150 for such bad service. I would be happy if someone could fix my other player's ( CLD-D925 ) U1 error. I know it can be fixed quite easily but I am not simply not good at using my hands and fixing stuff. |

Thanks Confederate. I can appreciate that you dont want to give any names out. My inbox is always open. £150 isnt exactly chump change but thought it was a fair price. I guess I was the chump in the end. I've fixed a u1 error before on my 925 by changing the belt. It's very easy to do but a bit fiddly and you could potentially snap plastic bits if you're not confident in what you're doing. Bring ur 925 to the uk and I'll fix it for you. |

Made a graph of the highest known serial number/month. Kind of makes sense (similar for the X9)! Attachment: Julien |
