I just picked up this Pioneer LaserKaraoke LD-V180 and was trying to find the manual for it or more information about it. Prior to purchasing it I thought it also played movies, but by now I have come to the conclusion that it might not. I only have movie disc so testing it isn't really an option. All I'm asking at this point is if theirs any real value in it and if there's a remote that might be needed to play movies on it. Since it gives the option of Karaoke Mode or Normal Mode. I tried looking it up on here to see if anyone talked about it, but couldn't and the only real listing I've seen online is manuals and some "no photos" one sold on ebay in Korea for 119. Please let me know if there's any more info on it anything is appreciated. |

It should play movies fine, Karaoke and normal mode ill assume is just audio settings. What is your movie? Pal disc? How is it connected to your display. Need more information. Seems to be a obscure playwr |

The LD-V180 is LaserKaroke machine that shares the same chassis as the the CLD-1030 / CLD-3030 / CLD-V190 but is an LD only player (no CD playback). The issue w/ this player is that it is an "analog only" player so you'll definitely be limited in respect to audio playback because some editions of LD titles will utilize the analog tracks for commentary. It also does not have any playback buttons on the unit but you should be able to start a movie by simply loading a disc and keeping the player in "normal" mode (one of the three buttons on the bottom right of the unit). If you need a remote for it, just about any Pioneer remote will control it as the IR codes are the same w/ some minor function differences. I would probably recommend trying to find a CLD-1030 remote for it as it would be a good match. Hope this helps. |

That is a very good point Zeta now that I have re-read the original post. There was no mention of whether the disc loaded or the sound of the spindle motor was spinning up. |
