For a while now I've been on the lookout for a remote for my CLD-D702. I'd really like to have one to be able to switch between audio tracks and have the jog wheel in hand. However, this particular model (CU-CLD068) never pops up and when it does on appear on ebay, it usually goes for around $50. :(
I refused to pay that much for a remote-especially on a player with issues. I intend to upgrade at some point, so I don't want to put a lot of money into a 702 remote.
Is there any universal remote or cheap solution that would give me control enough to switch audio tracks? I've been able to program a cheapo remote to do basic functions. Or is there another Pioneer remote that is known to work with the 702?

I'm not sure how to tell with 100% certainty, but *most* of the Pioneer LD remotes are interchangeable. I have one that I think is from the CLD-52 and it works with the CLD-704, CLD-3070, and CLD-1010. The only button that doesn't work is power on/off for some reason, but everything else including the jog shuffle wheel work perfectly. If you can find any cheap Pioneer remote that looks similar I think there's a very good chance it will work for you.

Go to eBay or do a google search for the CU-CLD098. This is the CLD-D703/704 remote. That way if you update in the future this will work on the newer machines. There is a person on eBay sell this remote thinking it is for the CLD-D701/702. The better find would be a CU-CLD117 or CU-CLD120 those are the Elite CLD-99 and CLD-79 but will cost you twice the price.
