Good day rein-o, firehorse_44.

I have noticed this on ebay also.
The HLD X9 is in my search file and so I get notifications of when they come up for auction.

The box of spare LD parts cost alone is around $300 let alone the rest that comes along with this.

I already have an HLD X9 and also have spares with a seller in Japan.
I paid around £1,500 for my player along with extras and the guy waited around one & half years for me to fully pay by installments into their account.

I then journeyed around 380 miles to collect and demo the player in action, then travelled all the way home again.
My friend was the map reader at the time, as I had no sat nav.

The player is awesome and runs soooo quietly.....refinement indeed.

If you manage to ever get hold of one at some stage you will enjoy.

The picture quality is top notch.

Regards to you both.

I was the original exporter of this X9 (#6468, built 1999) in Dec 2003. Indeed my buyer had also another one (from the last batch in 2002, bought from me). I probably provided the spare parts as well, this is a common parts set i had on offer at the time. Seller is mistaken, this deck never went through HK, but direct from Japan to the USA. Also mistaken on the number of owners: he is at least the third.

Cheers,
Nicolas

Hello Nicholas,

Thank you for the clarification on this product, as your reputation for honesty is trusted by many here.

I for one have the utmost respect for the service that you have provided for myself, and for that same reason, along with the trust that has bee earned on both sides ''is the reason why I am willing to pay more for things''

You are trusted Friend.

Thank you for being a good seller.

Regards to you.

Less than what I expected.
The buyer possibly got himself a good deal, considering all the extras that come along with the unit.

That is the going rate for an HLD-X9 today.
I bought one in pristine condition on Ebay back in November 2011 with remote + 1 MUSE disc + transformer for about £1100 ($1750).
As it was purchased in the UK, I didn't have to pay import duty and the shipping cost was also far less.

Whilst there seem to be plenty appearing on Yahoo Auctions I would have reservations about an inexperienced person shipping one of these as they are VERY heavy.
If I was buying direct from Japan I likely would have gone to n$a but perhaps chosen an older model as i doubt I could afford his newer stock. I wouldn't rule out
getting another HLD-X9 at some stage.

The Entech external comb filter added nothing to the value of the auction IMHO.

TLK

It has a nice modern look, that it does..it's pretty cool, but Pioneer could have done a little better, but i guess they considered the costs. It was the start to trying to reduce costs on Hi-Vision players.
I wish Muse discs would have continued...i don't want to imagine if for example there were movies on that format like Indiana Jones Trilogy or Star Wars, how much would they worth...

Well is not an impossible thing to do. The Box Sets can easily be manufactured with the exact same style without having to ask permission to anyone, and all we would need was the Muse Encodes to record them, and of course laserdisc recorders and empty laserdiscs.

If anyone had the previlege to know anyone that was related with those Panasonic guys for example it wasn't so hard to do it....

I did a short shoot out with my player with available processors/decoders. From my observation this CVSI-1 unit adds digitized look to the picture although it makes it a bit sharper. I decided to remove it form my system. I am using my CLD97 clones comb filter(svideo) into my VP30 with abt102.
