I have a couple of Denon LA-2300 units, they're nice little players from 1996. All info I can find on them always points to them being Pioneer CLD-D515 clones, but that's a European PAL/NTSC unit, and these Denons are 120 volt US models.
The back of my unit looks completely different from pictures of the back of the CLD-D515. My LA-2300 looks exactly like a CLD-D604 from the back (I think), but the front is different. (And no karaoke stuff)
So, what's the deal with these? Are these US units capable of playing PAL discs if the TV supports it? I don't have any PAL discs to test with. Or is it just a CLD-D604 with the karaoke removed and different buttons/faceplate?
I'll post some pics up tonight when I'm off work.
I think (though not certain) that the European CLD-515 US equivalent is the CLD-504, if you take a look at the rear panel of this model it looks identical to that of the US version of the MLD 2300.
