Add the B+K Components DT-1 RF Digital Demodulator / Auto-Selector to the list of AC3RF demodulators. I picked up this one on eBay. It works great and was much cheaper than any of the other brands commonly listed for sale (e.g., Kenwood, Pioneer, Yamaha, etc.)

Isn't it already there?
Did you try to lookup for "DT-1" in the hardware database?

But on the ones I found online, the 3 jack plugs on top at the back were never used.
The manual confirms they are unused.

If I had to guess, maybe they recycled a chassis designed for Dolby Surround or Dolby Digital with 5ch or 6ch output and left 3 unused?

Did a little research:

Quote:
B&K Components, Ltd. was a Buffalo, NY-based manufacturer founded in 1981, specializing in high-quality home theater and audio equipment, including amplifiers, receivers, and processors. The company was a prominent audio brand in the 1990s before closing in 2010 and being acquired by Amplifier Technologies Inc. (ATI).

But I can't even find an entry for the DT-1 on B&K defunct website!

Note that "auto-selector" is a jumper option:

Yes. I guess it is mentioned in passing reference.

Thanks for deep research!

Wished it had a true manual operation to choose an input with a press of a button.

I’m just grateful it works. I got a Kenwood DEM-999D that conked out after 30 seconds.

Really?

Were you using the power adapter provided or a replacement?

I never had an AC3RF demod go bad, and I have seen dozens of these over the years.

Thanks to you and lddb, I downloaded the B&K owner manual. I am now using the DT-1 to auto select between AC3 and non-AC3 laser disk output. Working well. (Still wish I could get the Kenwood DEM-999D to work!)
