Post subject:  Looking for AC3 RF demodulator.....where??

Hello,

I have been looking for a longer time for an AC3 RF demodulator to connect my Denon LA2300a to my amplifier. It is so hard to find one with 220V (to be used here in Austria)....Do you have any recommendations for sites to look at???

Thanks in advance.

Klaus :?:  :?:

Hi,

I have a few demodulators as spare units in mint condition. no scratches or scuffs. Perfect working order. No manuals! sorry  but they are pretty easy to connect :P
I could sell one...

2 Yamaha APD-1 & 3 Sony MOD-rf units .

They run on 220volt as a standard except one apd-1 that works on 110v but comes with a power converter 220-110v

Happy to hear from you

that's your best bet, or get one that is the 100 for japan or 110 and then buy a tranformer for 220

BTW, The Yamaha units I've seen all had 110/220V transformers. Take the cover off, change some jumpers and they are good to go on either voltage

I'm serious as a heart attack. Had a customer who bought one and found out when he got it it was marked as 220V. That's when I noted the transformer. Changed the jumpers and removed the European power plug and it was all good. Checked a few more after that and they were all the same, multi voltage transformers

It's been a long time (like 6 or 7 years) and I don't remember if you have to pull the board the transformer is on. When I say "change jumpers" I might be over simplifying. It may have been a re-wire of the transformer connections on the primary side. All I remember is it was pretty obvious. Maybe it's the 220V models that have a 110V tap on the transformer????
